Airplane Statistics

The Boeing 747 is one of the most well known and distinctive aircraft in use today with its two level design. The 747 was designed as a high capacity long distance jetliner. With over a 1000 in service, the 747 is also one of the most popular international jetliners in service. Since the original 747-400 came into service in the late 80's many variants for both freight and passenger travel have been produced. The most recent evolution to the 747 families is the 747-400ER or extended range which entered service in 2002. With a range 760km longer than the 400, the ER can carry passengers or freight over 14,000km around the globe. Improvements also include an upgraded interior and cockpit.
