Airplane Statistics

The Airbus A320 took its maiden flight on February 22,1987 and was certified for the airlines a year later. Since then, the A320 has been quite successful for Airbus with 1200 being produced since its inception. Depending on configuration the 320 can hold between 135 and 180 passengers with a range of 5500km. Recent airlines to fly the A320 include Jazeera Airways out of Kuwait who will receive several A320's in 2005. The A320 was one of the first commercial airliners to utilize the fly by wire system which both saves weight and ads an extra safety layer for flight. Companies which fly the A320 include Air France, Lufthansa, Iberia, and Aer Lingus.
